Changing Your E-mail Settings in MS Outlook

We have installed a new mail server that manages your e-mail address. This new mail server requires that your e-mail program settings in Microsoft Outlook change slightly to communicate with the new server. Please see the settings below or follow the series of screenshots showing you how to change your Outlook settings.

Username: (now your full email address)
Password: (as specified in the email you received)

POP server: mail.yoursite.com
SMTP servers
: mail.yoursite.com
SMTP server requires (SSL) authentication on port 26


1. Select TOOLS, then E-MAIL ACCOUNTS


2. Select VIEW OR CHANGE EXISTING E-MAIL ACCOUNTS, then NEXT.


3. Select your email account name from the list, then CHANGE.


4a. Change your username to your full e-mail address

4b. Change both the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) servers to "mail.yoursite.com"

Click MORE SETTINGS


5. There are no changes necessary in the GENERAL settings section.


6. In the Outgoing Server section, select the checkbox "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"

Then select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"


7. There are no changes necessary in the CONNECTION settings section.


8. Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to "26". Click OK when finished.


9. Click FINISH to save your settings. You're done!
